UMA 2013

I've attended a United Makeup Artist Expo over the weekend. It was such a motivating event and true inspiration for my future work. Watching top make-up artists talking about their work and doing demos was just amazing. One of my favourites was Terry Barber, the Director of Make-up Artistry for MAC. He offered great inside into the fashion industry, make-up tips and talked about his inspirations. Goth inspired make-up demo with the use of Traynor tape was really interesting.

Sian Richards, make-up artist for Halle Barry did a demo about achieving the perfect skin. By playing with different color foundations and blushers to get that 3D effect. Flawless!

Lois Burwell and Kenny Myers talked about their impressive careers and working on the movies such as Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, Star Trek and Lincoln. It was really inspirational to see how much they enjoy their work and still strive to learn new tricks despite being in the business for years.

UMAE contributors offered some amazing discounts on many products so obviously I couldn't resist. My new discovery are Bdellium brushes. Designed from top grade materials, assembled by hand and are treated with an antibacterial agent on the bristles.
